Anitta Brings Her Spiritual Journey to the Stage
Anitta is performing across Brazil with the EQUILIBRIVM Tour, but this series of concerts represents more than another collection of pop shows. It is connected to EQUILIBRIVM and EQUILIBRIVM II, two albums in which the Brazilian singer explores , self-knowledge and what it means to find in her life.
Anitta has said that the project should not be understood simply as an album about religion. For her, it is more about a state of mind and the ideas she believes in. The songs explore subjects such as love, healing, faith and Brazilian culture while bringing together different spiritual traditions.
Religion is still an important part of the project. Anitta has spoken publicly about her faith in Candomblé, an Afro-Brazilian religion. The albums and their visual projects contain references to orixás and other spiritual figures, as well as symbols connected to Candomblé and Umbanda. Some songs refer to figures such as Pombagira and Nanã, while others explore different ideas about .
However, Anitta's idea of goes beyond one . The project also includes meditation, references to Indigenous Brazilian culture and even a Buddhist mantra. She has explained that she is interested in the values that different spiritual traditions can teach rather than asking listeners to follow one particular religion.
The first EQUILIBRIVM was created after a period when Anitta felt tired of some of the pressure and competition of the music industry. She began working differently, focusing more on making music she enjoyed instead of constantly thinking about numbers and commercial success. She described as something that requires daily , not simply moving from one extreme to another.
EQUILIBRIVM II continues that journey. The album mixes Brazilian styles including funk, samba, bossa nova, reggae and forró and includes artists such as Maria Bethânia, Alceu Valença and Mart'nália. Anitta has said the music contains a lot of her , her view of the world and the Brazilian influences that are important to her.
The live tour was designed to reflect the same atmosphere. Instead of creating another enormous party-style show, Anitta said she wanted something more and connected to the spiritual and reflective ideas of the albums. The official tour includes shows in Porto Alegre, São Paulo, Fortaleza, Niterói and Salvador.
For Anitta, EQUILIBRIVM appears to be about bringing different parts of herself together: the international pop star, the Brazilian artist, her personal beliefs and the person behind the famous name. This time, the goal is not to choose one side. It is to find a place where they can all exist together.
